CHRISTLIKE DISCIPLEMAKERS MOVEMENT

OUR PURPOSE

This Christlike Disciplemakers Movement (CDM) is not a church but exists as an arm of the body of Christ for the purpose of producing a steady stream of passionate, God-glorifying, Christlike, Spirit-led disciplemakers from every Bible-centred church background who are constantly learning, growing and reproducing their kind and being released to plant self-multiplying healthy churches until the uttermost parts of the world is filled with them.

OUR STRATEGY/METHODOLOGY

2 Tim. 2:2. Disciples are made, not born. Only Christlike disciples can produce Christlike disciples. All members are to commit themselves to growing in Christlikeness and producing at least one Christlike disciple-maker yearly.

OUR STEPS

Jesus Christ made disciples and commanded us in Matt. 28:18-20 to do the same. The Reproduction table where one disciplemaker makes another disciplemaker within a year shows that within 34 years of committed and faithful focus, this whole world can be discipled and churched.

PRAYER IS KEY. Lk. 6:12,13. The Spirit of God must be active in the selection. Failure here fails everywhere. Pray until you are sure that God is speaking to you about some specific person(s).

START SMALL. Select a few. Focus. Concentrate. Never work with a nucleus of more than 3 or 4 in your first year. This does not mean you forget the multitude but keep your center of attention on training and mentoring an inner circle that can reproduce others of quality. Don’t scatter yourself or spread yourself too thin. Remember Jesus’ 3, then 12, then 72, etc.

ASSOCIATE. Associate, associate. Find and make time to be with the disciple(s). Let them come and meet you. Go to them. Send e-mails, write letters. Visit. Make phone calls. Mk. 3:13-15. Discipling from afar is the recipe for shallow work. Iron sharpens iron. Know his/her house. Spend time together.

TEACH, Teach, teach!!! Impart. Teach the Basic Bible Doctrines. Teach the Major Bible Doctrines. Let them know the cost of discipleship, cross-bearing, suffering and death for the sake of Jesus. No disciple is of any use to the Lord if s/he cannot deny her/himself and take up the cross to follow Jesus. Lk. 9:23;14:25-33. Help each disciplemaker to read through the whole Bible at least once a year. Encourage Quiet Time, Bible Verse memorization, 1-hour daily Prayer. Practice soul winning and sharing your personal testimony before them. Feed God’s hungry flock rather than entertain goats.

TRAIN. Train, Train!!! Demonstrate. Model. Equip. Do it alone before them while they watch; then do it with them. Let them do it alone while you watch and correct, then let them do it alone and teach others to do it in your presence. Quiet Time, Prayer, Witnessing, Praying for others to receive Christ, Holy Spirit Baptism, Gifts, Deliverance from demons, etc. can never be taught in the classroom alone. It must be on the job.

BUILD CHARACTER. Build Character, build character!!! All teaching and training is useless if there is no character transformation. The power of the gospel is seen in changed lives. This takes life rubbing on life. Accountability partnerships and close supervision as you help the disciple to grow and walk with the indwelling Holy Spirit and resurrected Jesus Christ (Gal. 2:20; Rom. 8:11; 1 Cor. 6:18-20).

CALL FOR HIGHER COMMITMENT. Consecration and obedience to Christ unto the point of death is non-negotiable. Lukewarm disciples produce lukewarm disciples. Faithful disciples produce their kind. 2Tim. 2:2. Phil. 2:5-11. Help them to discover and develop their gifts, talents and ministries.

DELEGATE. Delegate, delegate!!! Send them out to practice what you are teaching them. Check for fruitfulness and practicing of the word (doers) rather than hearers-only. Jas. 1:22-25. 1 committed disciple is worth 100 uncommitted ones. Delegate according to gifting and God’s work in their lives.

SUPERVISE. Supervise!! Supervise!!! Inspect spiritual growth. We get what we inspect not what we expect. Check Bible reading, prayer life, soulwinning testimonies. Find out what God is doing in each disciplemaker’s life. Mentor. Verify fruitfulness.

EMPOWER. Empower!! Empower!!! You cannot imagine what God will do with one Christlike person in a generation if released for ministry.
